Village to Spend $500K to Repair Roads This Year

Bolingbrook will save more than $100,000 than it budgeted for.

The village will spend more than $500,000 this coming year to repair roads and streets thanks to action taken by the village board Tuesday.

The board voted unanimously to spend $503,866 for construction equipment and metrials.

That figure is more than $100,000 under budget, according to village documents. Village officials had originally budgeted $610,000 for the seven purchases.

The money is coming from Bolingbrook’s Motor Fuel Tax revenues, which is distributed to cities and villages on a per capita basis by the state. When Bolingbrook's population grew to more than 73,000 people in the latest U.S. Census figures, the village was given more of that money, Mayor Roger Claar said.
