Valley View Electoral Board to Review Objections to Two School Board Candidates

The Valley View electoral board will meet Monday to review objections to the school board petitions of two candidates: Ron Doweidt and Robert Vandiver.

The Valley View electoral board will review objections to the petitions of two school board candidates Monday night. 

An individual named Ali Mir is objecting to the petitions of Bolingbrook resident Ron Doweidt and Romeoville resident Robert Vandiver. The electoral board will hear Mir's objections and make a decision on those objections at Monday's meeting.

The meeting will be held at 5 p.m. at the Valley View Administrative Center at 755 Dalhart Dr. in Romeoville. 

Doweidt and Vandiver are two of 10 people candidates will be on the April 9 for Valley View School District 365U Board of Education seats. Four candidates will be elected to school board seats. All seats are for four years.

Both Doweidt and Vandiver would be newcomers to the board.  

Three incumbents (Liz Campbell, Ronnie Bull and Chrystal Hansen) and five other challengers are running. Jim Curran will not run for re-election of his school board seat.

Bolingbrook residents Deborah Sykora, Sinatra Strong, Daniel Falese, Tonia Young Barr, and Jaime Olson will also be on the ballot. 

Electoral board members include Steven Quigley, Rick Gougis and Jim Curran.
