Why are you running for this office?

It is a calling from God to advocate for the children and carrying on the invitation I got from Principal of J.R. Tibbott in 1997.

I have 16 years of previous experience on the board.  I love the opportunity to serve this community. I do not take this position lightly since I will have to answer to God the way I serve in this capacity. 

How long have you lived in your community and/or been active in local issues?

I have lived in this community 29 years I ran for Mayor in 1997, serving on the first DuPage Township Committee on Youth, I have been a foster mom and adopted mom. Member of Alpha Missionary Baptist Church for 29 years and serve on the Intercessory Prayer Team. 

What's your favorite thing about Valley View School District 365U?

The diverse culture and families we serve.

What’s your opinion of the “New View” and the general direction the school district is headed? What do you agree with? What would you change?

I agree with the New View and would not change anything.  I would not have implemented so many new programs at one time.

What is the biggest challenge facing Valley View?

The biggest challenge is fiscal responsibility

As a board member, how do you plan to promote academic achievement while remaining fiscally responsible?

I plan to inquire of the experts, including those in the Superintendent’s cabinet to provide the information so that I am able to make a well-informed decision when I am voting and involve the community.
