BHS Air Force JROTC Cadets Learn About Leadership at Scott AFB

Ten cadets spent a 17-hour day participating in leadership and professional development activities.

Ten Air Force Junior ROTC Cadets attended AFJROTC Summer Leadership School at Scott Air Force Base.

The Cadets began each day with physical fitness training at 5 a.m. and ended about 10 p.m. with lights out. They participated in leadership and professional development activities including tours of the Flight Line, Air Traffic Control Tower, Weather Station, Base Fire Station and  Air Force Dormitories. And they prepared for daily room inspections and participated in daily sports competitions, a drill competition, Security Forces Day, Field Day, and a week-ending full dress parade.

The 10 BHS Cadets who attended were Wing Commander Kiran Syed and Deputy Commander Gabriel Ortiz, and Cadets Mohamad Almousawi, Omar Alston Jr., John Birkett, Everado Gutierrez Saurez, Emily Humpf, Michael Korta, Erik Speakman and Senior Jackline Wilson. 

The program was run by AFJROTC instructors, active duty Air Force instructors and Air Force Reserve Cadre who all served as Mentors.
