Bolingbrook HS Hosts SWSC Yearbook Writers’ Conference

About 130 students from 10 high schools participated in last week's conference at Bolingbrook High School.

Some 130 students from 10 high schools took part in the South West Suburban Conference Yearbook Writer’s Workshop at Bolingbrook High School last week.

BHS yearbook staff played host to their counterparts, greeting them at the door with cheers and escorting them to the Small Cafeteria for breakfast as well as to rooms for various sessions including:

  • A writers workshop staged by the Chicago Tribune’s Eric Hahn
  • Marketing with Mary Slater of Walsworth Yearbooks
  • The Philosophy of Lifetouch with photography experts from Lifetouch
  • Photoshop courtesy of Kaneda Matthayasack from Joliet Junior College
  • Yearbook design with Val Tanke from Walsworth Yearbooks.

DuPage Township Supervisor Bill Mayer served as keynote speaker for the gathering.

High schools that attended included Homewood-Flossmoor, Bradley-Bourbonnais, Sandberg, Stagg, Thornwood, Thornton, Lincoln Way Central, Lincoln Way West, Andrew and Lincoln Way North.
