Bolingbrook High School Senior Parent College Night is Oct. 24

Registration is required by Oct. 22 to attend the event. There will be three half-hour sessions offered that night.

With Bolingbrook High School Senior Parent Night just weeks away, the BHS Guidance Department is planning several activities to assist seniors and their parents in their pursuit of a college education.

A variety of workshops will be offered at Senior Parent Night Oct. 24 including:

  • 6:30-7 p.m. College 101: Learn the answers to important questions such as how do I choose a college? Do I have to choose a major? How do I get financial aid? Computers will be available for college searches.
  • 7-7:30 p.m. College applications: The college application process will be discussed in depth. Once you decide which colleges you like, what happens next? Learn important deadlines and review an actual application.
  • 7:30-8 p.m. Register for the NCAA Eligibility Center (formerly the Clearinghouse).

Reservations for all three sessions are required by calling 630-679-3441 by Oct. 22. Walk-ins will only be accepted based on space availability.

In addition to the three workshops, transition specialists Alison Ondracek and Gina Rafalski will be available at Door 1 from 6 to 8:15 p.m. to discuss post-high school services for students with IEPs. No reservations are required.

BHS seniors also have the opportunity to visit the BHS College Center in Room B114 during the school day. Seniors are able to perform college searches, make college and or scholarship applications, research a variety of careers and receive helps from guidance counselors.

Hours of the College Center vary daily.

Future college-related events for all students at BHS include Financial Aid Night and Trade Presentation on Jan. 23 and FAFSA Completion Night on Feb. 6.
