Bolingbrook Mom & PTA Member: 'We Believe It Is Not Too Late'

Colleen Douty encourages members of the school board to reject Principal Michael White's resignation and "empower him" to implement his vision for Bolingbrook High School.

Colleen Douty, the parent of a student at Bolingbrook High School and a member of the PTA, sent out the following letter Wednesday in attempt to rally support for Michael White, who resigned last week as the school's principal:

To the VVSD community:

Michael White recently resigned as principal of Bolingbrook High School. We believe Mr. White does not want to leave BHS. Rather, he wants to stay to see his vision come to fruition, but feels limited due to the policies put in place by Dr. Mitchem and the VVSD School Board. The success of our schools has a direct correlation to property values and the growth of local businesses. Everyone is a stake-holder in the situation.

We believe it is not too late for Dr. Mitchem and the school board to reject Principal White’s resignation and empower him to continue implementing his vision for BHS.

We are asking you to show your support of Mr. White in the following ways:

1. Sign our petition on January 24th between 5-9 PM at Fire Station #5 1900 Rodeo Dr, BB

2. Read and share the Bolingbrook Patch articles, blogs & comments

3. Find and share our events on Facebook: Support Mr. White! and Student Protest Against District Policies: SUPPORT MR. WHITE

4. Attend the School Board meeting on Jan. 27th at 7PM 725 Normantown Rd, Romeoville

5. Share the attached flyer/image
