The new option aims to enhance kindergarten readiness for 4- and 5-year-olds.

Bolingbrook Park District’s Stepping Stones preschool program has added a four-day, 2.5-hour option in an effort to enhance kindergarten readiness for older four-year-olds and younger five-year-olds. Classes are offered at both Deatherage Drdak and the Annerino Community Center from 9:15-11:45 a.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

  • Pre-literacy -  Letters into words, words into sentences, sentences into paragraphs, paragraphs into stories sequencing; Practice writing site words; Story Starters on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Math – Calendar concepts, writing two-digit numbers, coin differentiation.
  • Science – cooking projects every other week.
  • Field Trips – added field trips throughout the year to various park district sites and community locations.
  • Language – sign language and Spanish will be added throughout the curriculum.
