Bolingbrook Students Inducted into Benet Academy National Honor Society

Three Bolingbrook students made the cut.

The National Honor Society is one of the nation's premier organizations established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1921.

On Sunday, May 20th, new officers were installed and 161 students were inducted into the Benet Academy Chapter of the National Honor Society. Students are selected for membership in NHS based upon their outstanding performance in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Students inducted in NHS have met the following requirements:

  • Maintained a grade point average of 88.00 percent or higher.
  • Maintained a conduct grade of 88 percent or higher.
  • Performed the required number of service hours: 12 hours of Benet service for prospective sophomores Eighteen hours of Benet service for prospective juniors
  • Be a current participant in at least one Benet extracurricular activity
  • Submitted a personal essay.
  • Submitted recommendations from a teacher and an outside individual.
  • Had their selection approved by the entire faculty and staff
