Bolingbrook's Payton Qualifies for International Competition

Justin Payton qualified for the DECA Career Development Conference international competition in Atlanta.

A strong finish at the DECA Career Development Conference state finals in Decatur over the weekend means Bolingbrook High School’s Justin Payton qualifies for I-CDC international competition in Atlanta in May.

Payton will compete in the Entrepreneurship—Written category against students from throughout the United States and countries such as Germany, Japan, Canada, Guam and Puerto Rico after he finished fifth at DECA (formerly Distributive Education Club of America) in state competition.

BHS and Romeoville High School both sent teams to the state conference. Payton, Juan Martin, Avery Johnson, Danny Lopez, Dayle Tietjens, Angie Perez, and Ashley Dvorak represented BHS, while Bart Lichon, Julianna Bochnak, Aldo Diaz, Josh Gitogo, Terralyne Powe, and Angela Webb represented RHS.
