Brooks Administrators to Visit Incoming 6th Graders' Homes

New Brooks Middle School principal, Keith Wood, along with other administrators, will be knocking on the doors of homes of incoming Brooks 6th graders on Aug. 10.

New Principal Keith Wood isn’t waiting for some of his parents to come to him. Instead, he’s headed out into the community to meet them.

Wood and several members of his staff, including returning Assistant Principal Jason Pascavage and new Assistant Principal Christina Sylvester, will be knocking on the doors of homes of incoming Brooks 6th graders on Aug. 10.

“We just want to say a quick hello to our students and families, welcome them to the Brooks community and briefly answer any questions they may have,” said Wood, who . “It’s an opportunity for us to connect with our students and families so we can begin to build that sense of belonging that is so critical, especially at the middle school level. We want them to know we’re here to support them.”

Wood comes to Brooks with 18 years of experience as a teacher and administrator in west suburban school districts.
