Chicago Shakespeare Theater Performs 'Romeo and Juliet' for Bolingbrook High School

A Chicago Shakespeare Theater troop performed for Bolingbrook High School freshmen Wednesday.

Bolingbrook High School freshmen received a little first-hand knowledge of Shakesperian plays Wednesday when the Chicago Shakespeare Theater troop performed “Romeo and Juliet” on the BHS stage.

The “student-friendly” production is part of the Shakespeare Theater’s two-month-long Short Shakespeare tour of schools in the Chicago area and throughout the Midwest. The 75-minute abridged tale of true love found and tragically lost is adapted and staged by Jeff Award-winning director and Chicagoan of the Year in Theater, Rachel Rockwell.

BHS freshmen are currently studying Romeo and Juliet in their English classes.
