Dave Richards is New Valley View Director of Transportation

Valley View School District 365U Assistant Director of Transportation Dave Richards will become Director of Transportation for the 2014-15 school year, succeeding Lucy Harding, who is retiring July 1.

Richards, who serves as a Village of Romeoville trustee, came to VVSD more than a year ago as the assistant director.

His public sector career has covered 27 years in various management and customer service roles including 13 years as an Assistant Manager for Northern Service Centers in Bolingbrook, seven years as Service Manager at Naperville Jeep/Hummer/Kia in Lisle and 11 years with Bill Kay dealerships in Downers Grove.

Since coming to Valley View, Richards has been responsible for all aspects of Transportation Department Operations, including employee relations, maintenance and dispatch. He also assists with budget preparation and monitoring.

He is extremely active in the community, serving as a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Romeoville Lions Club and the Hampton Park Social Athletic Club.
