Early Birds Tutoring a Big Success at B.J. Ward

Teachers are offering their free time to provide Internet-based tutoring for students in kindergarten through fourth grade.

In an effort to provide as much support as possible for every student in the school, B.J. Ward Elementary School teachers are volunteering their time through “Early Birds Tutoring.”

Currently 3rd grade teacher James Quinn and aide Marilyn Webster are helping several dozen students in kindergarten through fourth grade from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m., providing internet-based tutoring assistance in fluency, decoding, comprehension and test taking skills.

“These teachers are offering their free time to support our students in need,” said Principal Ted Warpinski.  “We’re very proud of them.”
