Meaning-Centered Group for Adults with Cancer (an 8 week series)

A cancer diagnosis can have a profound impact on one’s spiritual well-being and sense of meaning and purpose in life.  This twice-monthly group will help adults with cancer explore meaning and purpose, even as their prognosis may be changing.  Participants will read excerpts from Viktor Frankl’s book, “Man’s Search for Meaning” and explore different topics at each session.  Topics will include: changes in identity after cancer diagnosis, sources of meaning, meaning in the face of life’s limitations and finiteness, meaning and creative values and responsibilities, meaning and experiential values like art and nature, transcending life’s limits, and beginning a legacy project.  Using guided discussion, photos, personal belongings, and writing activities, participants will address these topics and more as they complete this eight session series.
