Five Valley View Students to Compete at Will County Spelling Bee

The county bee is set for March 6 at Troy Middle School in Plainfield.

A trip to the Scripps Howard National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. will be on the line on Thursday, March 6, at Troy Middle School, 5800 W. Theodore St. in Plainfield, when five Valley View School District 365U students join dozens of other competitors at the Will County Spelling Bee.

VVSD representatives include district champion 7th grader John Belser, a 7th grader from Hupmhrey Middle School, Lukanic 6th grader Franki Miller, Jane Addams 8th grader Michael Edwards, Brooks 8th grader Chris Bavaro and Martinez 8th grader Martin Rayos Del Sol.

Sponsored by the Will County Regional Office of Education, the spelling bee begins at 6 p.m. The winner automatically qualifies for the national spelling bee.
