Wood and his team launched the summertime community walk last summer to “demonstrate our commitment to the families of Brooks Middle School.”

“For many, this is their first introduction to middle school which can be a scary proposition for any student,” he said. “This will help our students make an easier transition into Brooks.”

The community walk will begin at 9 a.m. and run until approximately 3 p.m. The Brooks staff will break up into teams that will be bused into various Bolingbrook neighborhoods where the teams will fan out to cover the students’ homes in each neighborhood.

Brooks staff members will spend several minutes at each home discussing the school day and answering questions.
