Jane Addams Middle School Wins Fountaindale Great Page Race

Bolingbrook middle school students read 1.4 million pages in the Fountaindale Library 2012 Great Page Race.

Bolingbrook middle school students read an amazing 1.4 million pages in the Fountaindale Library 2012 Great Page Race with Jane Addams Middle School grabbing the grand prize.

Some 413 Addams students read 640,916 pages, qualifying the school for a $300 collection of paperback books courtesy of Friends of the Fountaindale Public Library.

Hubert Humphrey finished second with 572 students reading 484,862 pages. The school will receive a $200 collection of paperback books.

Brooks Middle School earned a $100 collection of paperback books for finishing third with 357 students reading 249,317 pages.

Classroom winners were Sara Colombo’s students from Addams with 52 of a possible 65 students reading 129,358 pages, Stephanie Sewasciuk’s classes at Humphrey with all 56 of her students reading 83,214 pages, and Karrie Lesac’s classes at Brooks with 31 of 33 possible students reading 40,593 pages.

Each classroom winner will receive a $100 gift card for a pizza party and a set of the 2013 Rebecca Caudill Nominees

In all 1,342 teens read and recorded at least one page for the race this year.  All three schools read a grand total of 1,375,095 pages.
