Jody Ellis to be New Principal at Wood View Elementary School

Ellis previously served as an assistant principal at Humphrey Middle School.

A former Valley View School District 365U elementary school teacher and current middle school Assistant Principal will be the new Principal at Wood View Elementary School in Bolingbrook.

Humphrey Middle School Assistant Principal Jody Ellis will succeed Mark Stange as Wood View Principal effective July 1. Stange is leaving to take a Principal position in another school district.

Ellis, who began her career as a third grade teacher in Joliet School District 86, joined VVSD in 2000 as a third grade teacher at Valley View Elementary School. A year later, she moved to Hermansen Elementary School where she taught third grade for seven years. She became Humphrey’s Assistant Principal at the start of the 2008-09 school year.

A graduate of Illinois State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in elementary education, she also holds a Master’s Degree in educational leadership   from University of St. Francis.

Ellis has been on the VVSD Technology Team, VVSD Anti-Bullying Task Force, VVSD Math and Science Committee, Alternative to Suspension Committee, Writing Rubric and Language Arts Committee, and the VVSD Elementary Language Arts and Social Science Committee.
