Editor's note: The following is a press release from Valley View School District 365U.
Members of the new Bolingbrook High School Student Ambassadors program and students who have transferred into BHS this year, many of them from other countries, spent several hours Saturday afternoon getting to know each other at a back-to-school barbeque.
After a hot dog and soda, the group played softball (some of the students had never held a bat), took part in a tug of war, played musical chairs, held a balloon-pop relay and took part in a water balloon fight. They also held some team building exercises.
All of the activities were designed by BHS Student Ambassadors.
The event was as much an education for Student Ambassadors as it was for the transfer students, several of whom came from Nigeria, Quebec, West Africa and Mexico.
