Oak View Elementary Students Recognized for MAP Testing Growth

Nearly 50 Oak View Elementary School students were honored Thursday for significant growth on Measures of Academic Progress assessments.

Nearly 50 Oak View Elementary School students were honored Thursday for their “significant growth” in MAP test scores from the first exam last fall to the second winter test. A third school-wide MAP test, used to measure individual student progress in both reading and math, will take place in the spring.

With parents of many of the students present for the “Partners In Excellence” assembly, Principal Bob Pinciak and Assistant Principal Eugenia Harvatt congratulated the high achievers and urged them to continue to strive to do well.

Pinciak also revealed the school’s new vision and mission statement, telling parents “our commitment as a community is to be lifelong learners and effective citizens.”
