Pioneer PTO Selling Coupon Books for SMART Board Fundraiser

For $20, the book contains coupons that work like cash at local establishments and can be used for oil changes, restaurants and kids' activities.

The community is invited to help bring new technology to students at  through an upcoming fundraiser.

Members of the school’s PTO are coordinating a fundraiser selling coupon books to help purchase a SMART Board for Pioneer’s Technology Lab.

The interactive whiteboard includes a large white board, computer and a projector. With the SMART Board, teachers and students can access the Internet, specially designed applications and software. The board can be written on and responds to touch.

“The Technology Lab is used by all grade levels at Pioneer, so it will directly impact every student at the school,” PTO Co-President Karen Bartosiak said.

For $20, the book contains coupons that work like cash at local establishments and can be used for oil changes, restaurants and kids activities. The book contains more than $500 in savings.

Members of the Pioneer PTO work in conjunction with the principal and assistant principal to decide what items are needed and then raise the funds accordingly, Bartosiak said.

“The SMART Board in the Technology Lab has been needed for a while, and in a technology-driven world, it is important to keep up with the technology in our schools,” she said.
