RHS, BHS Students to Perform at IMEA District Music Festival

Six Valley View School District 365U students have been selected to perform at the district music festival, where they can audition for the state festival.

Six Valley View School District 365U high school students have been selected to perform in the Illinois Music Educators Association District 9 Music Festival.

Bolingbrook High School senior Michael Madden will play the trombone in the District Band as well as in the District Jazz Band. Romeoville High School senior Keith Jett will play the trumpet in the District Band. BHS senior Justin Hill (alto sax) and RHS senior Kevin Silva (trumpet) will play in the District Jazz Band. Members of the IMEA District Chorus include Bolingbrook High School junior Jonathan Slowik (Bass I) and senior Janelle Villas (Alto I)

Each VVSD student auditioned for spots in the Music Festival, competing with other young musicians from schools throughout the suburbs.

Students selected will perform at the IMEA Jazz Festival on Nov.10 at Naperville Central High School and the IMEA Senior Festival on Nov. 17 at Hampshire High School.

District qualifiers are also eligible for consideration for IMEA All-State which will be announced in December.
