RHS Sets Up Mini College Fair for Seniors at Registration

Romeoville High School held a mini college fair during its school registration this year.

seniors and their parents registering for the 2012-13 school year Tuesday also had the opportunity to participate in a Mini College Fair.

“One of our key goals at Romeoville High School is to build a culture of high aspirations and achievement for every student,” said Assistant Principal Gina Smith.

“A college fair provides an excellent opportunity for students and parents to talk directly to college representatives, ask questions, and get information at the same time.”

Local colleges attending the fair included Joliet Junior College, Lewis University and Rasmussen College. Also on hand were University if St. Francis, Eastern Illinois University, North Central College, and University of Illinois at Springfield.

Smith, RHS Assistant Principal Jim Boudouris, Guidance Counselor Craig Bates put the fair together with some assistance from the Romeoville Chamber of Commerce Partners In Education program and the Chamber Education Committee.

“We are committed to preparing our students for life after high school by continuing to improve and strengthen our career and college readiness counseling program,” Smith said. “We are excited about this opportunity for our students, and we are looking forward to expanding this event in future years.”
