Spelling Bee Champ Kimberly Belser To Be Honored Today During Pep Rally Sponsored by ComEd

During the rally, ComEd will hold a mock spelling bee competition with the three local students who will represent DuPage, Will and suburban Cook counties at the National Spelling Bee Finals in Washington, D.C.

Commonwealth Edison is hosting a pep rally Thursday for the three local students who will represent DuPage, Will and suburban Cook counties at the National Spelling Bee Finals in Washington, D.C.

student Kimberly Belser will be honored, along with fellow champions Marly Santora, eighth-grader at Komarek School in North Riverside and Sophia Whittemore, eighth-grader at St. Walter School in Roselle, at the event which will be held at the ComEd Commercial Center in Oak Brook.

During the rally, ComEd will hold a mock spelling bee competition with the champions as employees and elected officials from their hometowns wish them good luck at the national competition later this month.

This is the fifth consecutive year ComEd is sponsoring the DuPage County, Will County and suburban Cook County spelling bee champions.

ComEd is covering all expenses for the three regional winners and their families to attend the National Spelling Bee Finals which will be held May 27 through June 1, in Washington, D.C.
