Valley View Hires New Director of PreK-5 Math and Science

Adam Hurder, Valley View School District 365U’s Math and Science Curriculum Coordinator for elementary schools, has been named Director of Pre K-5 Math and Science for the 2014-15 school year.

He succeeds Lori Bobak, who has left the district.

Hurder began his career with VVSD in 2007 as a 5th grade teacher at Irene King Elementary School in Romeoville, a position he held until he became the district’s Math and Science Coordinator two years ago.

A graduate of the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in political science, he also holds a Master of Arts degree in Educational Administration from Concordia University and a Master of Arts in Teaching from National-Louis University.

In addition to his career with VVSD, Hurder was Supplemental Educational Services Coordinator for Chicago Public Schools for nearly two years, managing a $50 million program for tutoring services, teacher-leader salaries and curriculum materials.
