Valley View School Safety Committee Looking for Members

Community members are invited to join the committee. The committee's next meeting is Jan. 16.

As Valley View School District 365U re-examines its security procedures in the wake of the elementary school tragedy in Connecticut, district officials are inviting community members to become a part of the VVSD School Safety Committee.

“This committee will play a key role in taking a look at areas in which we excel and areas in which we need improvement,” said Leroy Brown, VVSD’s School Safety Coordinator. “Recommendations from the committee will assist the administration and Board of Education in making key decisions over the course of the next six months.”

The School Safety Committee meets from 5 to 6 p.m. the third Wednesday of each month in the Bolingbrook High School library. Anyone interested in joining the committee should contact Shanitra Brooks at 815-886-2700, Ext. 519 or Brooksst@vvsd.org.
