VVSD Students Earn College Credit through Lewis Program

Sixteen students participated in a free foreign language program during the summer for college credit.

Sixteen Valley View School District 365U high school students participated in STARTALK, Lewis University’s free foreign language program, during the summer.

A project of the multi-agency National Security Initiative designed to expand students’ knowledge of critical languages that may be under taught in the nation’s high schools, STARTALK not only taught students the finer points of  Russian, Chinese, Arabic or Turkish, but also helped students understand various cultures and ethnicities.

Bolingbrook High School students who attended included: Kanoyinsola Akagbosu, Carrie Anderson, Simone Beckley, Mohammad Asad Chaudhry, Avery Johnson, Eridiam Llanas, Elizabeth Lopez, Madeleine Morrison, Mandy Perez, Claire Pigors, Esmeralda Reveles, Stephen Rosenthal and Jonathan Worlton.

Romeoville High School students who attended included: Ian Dattomo, Gabrielle A. Habeeb and Crystal Ice.
