Verizon Donates 10 Boxes of School Supplies to Bolingbrook School

The Bolingbrook store raised money through customer donations.

Submitted by VVSD:

Ten Humphrey Middle School teachers received dozens of new school supplies Friday thanks to the Verizon Wireless TCC store in the Bolingbrook Promenade.

“We basically want to give back to the community,” said Andrew Bruce, manager of the store. “Helping teachers will help the kids as well.”

The store raised the funds through donations from customers who allowed Verizon to round up their total bill to the next highest dollar.

Verizon stores nationwide participate in the company’s “Culture of Good” which includes a backpack giveaway at the start of each school year. Last summer Verizon gave away 60,000 backpacks filled with school supplies across the country. Valley View students were among those who received the backpacks.

The 10 Humphrey teachers who received the supplies included Key Leaders as well as teachers selected at random.
