VVSD Seeks Community F.A.N.S.

Valley View's F.A.N.S. program is conducting a district-wide search for people who care about children and are willing to give of their time to help them succeed in school.

Friends, Families and Neighbors Supporting Students (F.A.N.S.) program is conducting a district-wide search for people who care about children and are willing to give of their time to help them succeed in school.

The next training session for F.A.N.S. is from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 18, at the , 755 Dalhart, Romeoville. Reservations are needed by calling Michele Bochnak at 815-886-2700. Other sessions will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, and 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 21, also at the Valley View Administrative Office.

F.A.N.S. at the high school level serve in various capacities, including meeting and greeting students during high traffic periods before and after school and during lunch and mentoring. Middle school and elementary school F.A.N.S. could be bilingual tutors, hall monitors, lunch buddy mentors, subject tutors, mentors, reading assistants and much more.

Being involved in F.A.N.S. has a variety of benefits including the choice of 21 different locations, flexible hours, working in areas of your own interest, giving back to your community and, best of all, getting paid back with love and appreciation.
