Whiz Kid: Tibbott 2nd Graders Curious About College

Each week, Bolingbrook Patch will seek suggestions from readers for individual kids, youth groups, teens, and even sports teams that wow us with their accomplishments.

• Key to Awesomeness: Lewis University’s College of Education hosted 60 second graders from in last week. Designed as a component of Tibbott’s “College Bound” program, the visit featured a virtual tour of campus led by Lewis undergrads, professors and deans. High winds and rain forced canceled of an actual walking tour of campus. Lewis education students conducted workshop-style classes in math and science with students earning “diplomas” for completion of course work. Former Principal Dr. Lauren Rentfro, now a professor at Lewis, helped to arrange the visit. (Courtesy of Valley View School District)
