The Bolingbrook High School football team remained atop conference standings after a dominating performance against Joliet Central.

Teams in the Southwest Suburban Blue Conference opened up their conference schedules over the weekend.

Here's how things shaked out in the second week of the high school football season:

 Joliet Central won the coin toss, but did not find itself on the winning end of much else during the game.The Raiders scored 60 first-half points and Bolingbrook's defense did not allow a first down in the first half, bullying Joliet Central's ball carriers and punishing the Steelmen's offensive line. Quarterback Timothy Williams threw three touchdown passes and rushed for another as the Vikings glide past the turnover-prone Knights.  led  by only 14-0 at halftime Friday night, but Taje Smith scored on a 72-yard run less than two minutes into the second half, and H-F was on its way to a 42-7 victory in New Lenox. Lincoln-Way East 38, Lockport 7: Lincoln-Way East quarterback Blake Winkler played a near-perfect game, extending the first possession of the game with four successful third-down conversions and capping the 94-yard drive with a 17-yard touchdown pass to Jay Yancy. (Chicago Tribune)

The Eagles defense came up huge when it needed to, returning a fumble for a TD and recovering another fumble near the goal line. The Eagles stopped the host Tigers on a promising drive in the final 90 seconds to preserve a 35-28 victory to open SouthWest Suburban Conference Blue play.
