The Bolingbrook High School football team clinched a playoff spot with its 27-3 win over Sandburg over the weekend.

But the Raiders erupted for 27 points in the second half and defeated the Eagles 27-3 in a Southwest Suburban Blue football showdown on Friday night. In the end, the Raiders' explosive option game was too much for the Eagles' defense to handle.(Bolingbrook Patch)

Homewood-Flossmoor 56, Joliet Central 0: Two first-quarter Joliet Central fumbles led to an early 21-0 Homewood-Flossmoor lead and the Vikings defeated the Steelmen 56-0 in a SouthWest Suburban Blue game Saturday afternoon. Homewood-Flossmoor quarterback Tim Williams (5-of-7, 169 yards) hit Sean Jones for a 69-yard strike on the second play from scrimmage to open the scoring. J.J. Robertson scores three TDs in the first half as the Griffins beat the Knights for the 11th straight time dating back to 2002.  scored on its first two offensive plays from scrimmage Friday night, and  never responded as the visiting Griffins built a 42-0 lead at halftime to induce the running clock in New Lenox. With their 42-7 victory, the Griffins improved to 7-0 overall and 5-0 in the Southwest Suburban Blue. (Frankfort Patch)

Lockport 35, Joliet West 14: After a first half filled with big plays, the Lockport defense decided Saturday it was time to spoil homecoming for SouthWest Suburban Blue foe Joliet West. The Tigers’ Ramarr Jordan escaped a mass of humanity — minus a shoe — and raced 80 yards for a touchdown with 10:59 left in the half to tie it 14-14. But the Porters’ defense, led by linebacker Brad Johnson, allowed penalty-plagued West three first downs and 75 net yards the rest of the way to secure a 35-14 victory and likely a playoff berth.
