Bolingbrook Girls Win First-Ever Regional Softball Title

Bolingbrook High School’s Lady Raider Softball team won the school’s first ever Regional Championship Saturday beating top seeded Benet Academy 7-1. 

The Raiders scored three runs off Olivia Simpson’s home run in the top of the 6th making it 3-1 and sealed the deal in the top of 7th where the bats came alive.  Brie Smith singles, Lorrin Pondo doubled and Nicole Bond knocked in two a single. After Danielle Cinquepamli doubled, Jen Jacobson singled in two more.    Megan Lotarski, who has 253 strikeouts on the season, came in to pitch the bottom of the 7th and registered two strikeouts and a blooper.  The Lady Raiders will head to Sectionals on Tuesday at Oswego East High School to face Naperville Central at 4:30 p.m. The team is coached by Jean Ryan-Moak.
