Bolingbrook Lions Club to Host Annual Beep Baseball Tournament

Beep baseball allows blind and sight-impaired athletes to enjoy America's pastime.

For the 12th consecutive year, the Bolingbrook Lions Club will host a national Beep Baseball Tournament showcasing blind and sight-impaired athletes.


Teams from Boston, Cleveland, Chicago, Indianapolis, Colorado, Kansas and St. Louis are scheduled to compete in the Father's Day weekend tournament. The tournament opens with a welcoming pizza party for the teams arriving Friday night, June 14.


Competition begins Saturday, June 15, with four games being played each at 8 a.m., 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Volunteer Park, located at the northwest corner of Lily Cache and Lindsey Lanes, next to  Pelican Harbor and the BRAC.

The Lions will provide a lunch on site to the players and their families. Saturday will conclude with a catered dinner after the games provided by the Lions in the

evening. Championship games are Sunday morning, June 16 at 8 a.m., with a brief awards ceremony after.

Admission is free and all are welcome to see this game where a 16" softball has a transmitter embedded to emit a "beep," allowing blind players to hit, as well as field the ball.


Donations are always welcome to help support the Lions in this event. The Lions are an international organization of 1.35 million members is 46,000 clubs in 204 countries.
