On Friday, Alycia Deluca of Bolingbrook signed her letter of intent to play softball for Coach Larry Babcock and South Suburban College next season.
With a full athletic scholarship, she will join the Bulldogs as a starting pitcher beginning the 2014-2015 school year. Alycia has led her Premier travel team in strikeouts, wins, and earned run average the last 3 seasons. Her most memorable moments include a tournament last fall where she dominated time on the mound in a push to get to the championship. She ultimately went on to pitch that championship game, helping her team take home the first-place title.
Deluca's best moments also includes a no hitter, with 16 strikeouts, that she pitched for Bolingbrook High School in 2013. She has played Travel-A softball in her younger years with the Bolingbrook Fury, but continued on to a Premier/College Exposure team with the Illinois Hawks.
Deluca has been training at "GenuWin Sports Training" in Romeoville with owner and pitching Coach Marcy Kritikos. She will finish up a final season locally this summer with the Lisle Slammers before moving on to her college career.
She will be pursuing a degree in radiation & diagnostic Ultrasound.
