Bolingbrook's Cecil Nicholson to Make His Future Football Home in Indy

Raiders' senior defensive back mades a vebal commitment to attend the University of Indianapolis.

In the same town where one of the top young quarterbacks in the NFL has gained a foothold, one of the top high school defensive backs in the area will attempt to carve his niche on the other side of the ball.

Bolingbrook's Cecil Nicholson (5-8, 175 pounds) has made a verbal commitment to continue his football career at the University of Indianapolis, according to a Valley View School District news release. Nicholson earned all-conference and all-area honors as a senior playing for the Raiders.

He made 45 tackles, including five for losses, totaled 10 pass break-ups and nabbed three interceptions while helping Bolingbrook notch a 10-1 record and advance to the second round of the Class 8A playoffs.

Nicholson will be playing defense in the collegegiate ranks in a town where Andrew Luck has turned offense into the first word on the minds of many football fans in Indianapolis. Luck is the quarterback who engineered the Colts' dramatic rally to a 45-44 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs recently in the AFC playoffs.
