Cooke Places Third at Minooka, Raiders Slump as a Team

The Bolingbrook High School boys golf team turned in a seventh-place finish at the Minooka Invite Monday afternoon.The day was highlighted by senior David Cooke's third-place individual showing.

David Cooke, Bolingbrook High School's ace senior golfer, shot a 5-over-par, but the rest of his team averaged nearly 30-shots-over en route to a seventh-place showing in the Minooka Invitational Monday afternoon.

Bolingbrook as a team shot a 369, highlighted by a 77 by Cooke, who finished in third place in the 10-school tournament.

Cooke bogied three of the first six holes but caught fire after nailing an 85-foot putt on the par-3 8th hole.

"I was so far away… I just hit it hard and hoped for the best," Cooke said, according the BHS athletic website. "When it got to within 10 feet, I knew it had a chance."

Rounding out Bolingbrook's scores were Zach Kuchta (92), Dylan Scott (99), Matt Obzera (101), Kyle Jordan (104) and Max Warren (104).
