Football: Raiders Set to Open Season at Plainfield South

Armed with some of the state's top talent, the Bolingbrook Raider football team begins its quest for a state title tonight when they take on Plainfield South.

Anchored on defense by senior Antonio Morrison, who recently committed to play next season for the University of Florida, and on offense by junior Aaron Baily, who himself is gathering scholarship offers, the Raiders are looking to build upon a 5-4 2010 regular season record, which ended in a  in the first round of the IHSA Class 8A playoffs. 

In all, the Raiders return 18 starters.

According to a Chicago Sun-Times report, the Cougars lost a lot from last season’s high-powered attack, and Ken Bublitz has replaced Mike Briscoe as coach. But Austin 
Howarth is back at quarterback and receiver Dantrell Wright is one of the best in the area.
