Volunteer Meeting for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

Making Strides is a noncompetitive walk supporting the American Cancer Society’s unique mission to help people stay well by preventing cancer or detecting it early; help people get well by being there for them during and after a cancer diagnosis; by finding cures through investment in groundbreaking discovery; and by fighting back by rallying lawmakers to pass laws to defeat cancer and by rallying communities worldwide to join the fight. Since 1993, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer has been the American Cancer Society’s rallying cry to raise awareness and money to fight breast cancer. In that time, 8 million walkers have raised more than $400 million through Making Strides.

Volunteers are needed for a variety of roles.  Some areas of support include

  • promoting the event
  • volunteering at the day of the walk (set up/tear down; route cheer crew; registration)
  • recruiting teams and individual walkers
  • recruiting breast cancer survivors
