Bolingbrook Raiders Ranked No. 1 by Trib, Sun-Times
The Bolingbrook Raiders passed on an opportunity to play Joliet Catholic on ESPN to open against Plainfield South Friday night.
The defending Class 8A state champion will open their 2012 season against Plainfield South Friday night at home.
The Raiders had a chance to play its first game with a national audience, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. ESPN approached the team to open its season against Joliet Catholic. That would have pitted Bolingbrook quarterback Aaron Bailey and Hilltoppers running back Ty Isaac
But Bolingbrook turned down ESPN to honor its game against Plainfield South.

“It would have been a great game,” Ivlow told the Sun-Times. “But the networks and big corporations don’t dictate what we do. We do what’s best for our team and our kids, not ESPN. People might say we wouldn’t budge and snubbed them and maybe we did a little bit, but, oh, well.”
