Girls Basketball: Lady Raiders Pound Plainfield East 96-17 In Playoff Opener

Bolingbrook 96, Plainfield East 17. The Lady Raiders stormed out of the gate, going on scoring runs of 12-0, 18-0 and 25-0 in the first half of their 79-point win against the Bengals.

The Hot Read: The Bolingbrook Lady Raiders started their playoff run in grand fashion, embarking on a quest for a third-straight state title.  Bolingbrook was paced by junior forward Morgan Tuck's season-high 35 points and 9 rebounds. Tuck scored 23 points in what was a dominant first half for the Lady Raiders. Plainfield East was overmatched from the outset as the Bengals' defense allowed the Raiders to go on runs of 12-0, 18-0 and 25-0 during the first half.

Patch's MVP: Tuck filled the bucket (35 points), crashed the boards (9 rebounds) and was a perfect 7-for-7 from the free-throw line.

Key Stats: Nine different Lady Raiders scored. Plainfield East's two first-quarter points came on a pair of free throws. The Bengals were held without a field goal until the 7:40 mark of the second quarter.
