Lady Raiders Begin Four-Peat Quest as No. 6 in the Country

The Bolingbrook High School girls basketball team will open its season this week against the No. 11 and No. 12 best teams in the country.

will begin the season next week as the 6th best girls basketball team in the country, according to MaxPreps.com. USA Today and ESPN-Rise pre-season rankings have not been released yet.

The jump right into the middle of the national championship race Nov. 25-26 in Memphis with games against 11th ranked Twinsburg (OH) and 12th ranked Hoover (AL).

The Lady Raiders will once again play in the in Phoenix Dec. 20-23. Last season, Bolingbrook wound up losing to the first () and third () teams in the country, Mater Dei, in the tournament.

The BHS girls open conference play Dec. 8 at Lincoln-Way Central before playing their first home game on Dec. 13 against Sandburg.

“The Raiders lost their point guard () to Tennessee and a post (Taylor Tuck) to Illinois, but they're still Top 10 material thanks to the presence of 6-2  and 6-3 Illinois-bound Nia Moore,” said MaxPreps. “Cabriana Capers, a mere 6-1, will go to Auburn, and junior guardKennedy Cattenhead is also a Division I-level player. In short, don't expect much of a dropoff from the Illinois champs.”

The number one team in the country, according to MaxPreps, is Riverdale Baptist from Upper Marlboro (MD). Two through five are St. Mary’s of Phoenix; Memphis Central (TN); St. John’s of Washington, D.C.; and Norcross (VA).
