Raiders Hit the Road for Showdown Against LW-Central

The Knights enter the game still winless in the conference. The Raiders, meanwhile, are the fifth best Class 8A team in the state.

With a playoff spot secured, the Bolingbrook High School football team will likely use its remaining two games to fine-tune their playoff gameplan.

That begins tonight as the Raiders hit the road to take on Southwest Suburban Blue Conference-foe Lincoln-Way Central.

The Knights enter the game still winless in the conference—the team has one win this season against Thornridge, which is still winless this season.

The Raiders (4-1, 6-1) appear likely to win this one, barring unexpected circumstances. They've outscored Lincoln-Way Central 270-130 this season and have held opponents to 131 fewer points through seven games.

The Knights (0-5, 1-6) have lost five-straight games, most recently to conference powerhouse Lincoln-Way East, which to stay unbeaten this season.

In that game, the Knights failed to find the end zone in the opening half and had only 97 yards of total offense by halftime. Overall, rusher Brett Ditchman had 68 rushing yards on 22 carries and scored the team's lone touchdown. Signal caller Cobi Christiansen, meanwhile, was 8-of-21 passing for 76 yards.

The Knights were unable to hold LW-East's offense in check and that will likely be the case tonight as Bolingbrook contains an even more explosive offense.

The Raiders enter the game ranked fifth in Illinois Class 8A football—they're also the conference's second-best offense and third-best defense.

Last week, the Raiders got back on the winning track after losing to LW-East by defeating Sandburg 27-3. In that game, quarterback standout Aaron Bailey was 5-of-11 passing for 89 yards and had 17 carries for 93 yards and a rushing touchdown. Running back Jaden Huff finished with 86 yards rushing on nine carries and scored three touchdowns, and Chandler Piekarski had three catches for 69 yards.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at Lincoln-Way Central.
