Despite the dominating fashion in which the Raiders won their fourth consecutive game, senior D.J. Pruitt said each week provides a blank slate.

“As overly humble as it sounds, we've got to take this week by week,” Pruitt said. “We're level-headed enough to know we've got something special here right now. We've got to keep this moving. We're going to sleep on the 49-12 win, but we've got work to do in the morning.”

The Raiders were putting in quality work on the gridiron, even if it came after a slow start.

Jaden Huff's six-yard touchdown opened the scoring with 2:36 remaining in the first quarter, putting up 6-0 after a missed extra point.

However, it was the only glimmer of hope provided by either offense as three punts and four turnovers on downs bogged down the respective offenses.

Bailey's first score came with 4:38 remaining in the second quarter, as he scored on a 28-yard run on fourth down to help the Raiders take a 14-0 lead. The junior quarterback added a 33-yard touchdown pass to junior Omar Stover, giving a 21-0 advantage the team took into halftime.

The Raiders began piling on in the third quarter, scoring on a 25-yard touchdown strike by Bailey with 5:09 to go in the quarter.

After junior running back Korey Rogers scored the first of his two touchdowns for Joliet West, struck back.

Bailey's rushing touchdown from two yards out increased 's lead to 34-6. Minutes later, a five-yard scamper gave the Raiders a 40-6 lead.

A defensive stop that turned into a safety tacked on two more points before Diaron Rhodes returned the safety punt for a touchdown as time expired in the third quarter, putting up 49-6.

Not bad for a sluggish start.

“We didn't want to get off to that start,” Bailey said. “We wanted to get off to a better start because we didn't want to lose, give anyone leeway or think they were in the game.”
