Raiders to Host Joliet West in Homecoming Game

The Bolingbrook High School football team will look to keep an unblemished season resume tonight as it takes on Joliet West in the Raiders' Homecoming game.

The surest way to stop an offense on a roll is to disrupt its rhythm.

To say the least, the Bolingbrook High School football team has found a heck of a rhythm early on this season.

It's formula: Score early. Score often. Let the opposing offense spend as little time on the field as possible.

So far this season, Bolingbrook (3-0, 1-0) has outscored its opponents 106-10 in the first half. And the Raiders offense has been essentially unstoppable—its leader, junior quarterback Aaron Bailey, has scored 10 touchdowns in limited playing time.

In Joliet West's case, the best defense may be a good offense.

The Tigers come into Bolingbrook tonight as the Raiders' Homecoming opponent. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at .

Joliet West (0-3, 0-1) hopes standout running back SaVaughn Alexander can be the disruption it needs to succeed.

Alexander, who missed the entire 2010 season with a torn ACL in his left knee, has been lights out this season for the Tigers.

Simply put, the more time Alexander and the Tiger offense stays on the field, the less likely Bailey and company are to score.

Last week, Alexander was electric, finding the end zone twice—from 70 yards and from 10 yards out. In all, he rushed for 254 yards on 21 carries in Joliet West's 35-28 loss to Sandburg.

In addition, rusher Ramarr Jordan had 13 carries for 64 yards and quarterback Zach DiVarco was 9-for-18 passing for 183 yards and two rushing touchdowns.

But Alexander and the Tiger offense will be going up against one of the best defense's in the Chicago-area—maybe even the state—anchored by .

The Raider defense, last week, and didn't even allow the Steelmen a first down in the first half.
