Patch's Guide to the 2012 Summer's Last Blast

Enjoy Bolingbrook Park District's annual end-of-summer celebration at the Bolingbrook Recreation and Aquatic Complex.

Enjoy  annual end-of-summer celebration, Summer's Last Blast, Saturday, August 25.

The event will take place from noon until dusk. 

The event kicks off with at 8 a.m. at the Bolingbrook Recreation & Aquatic Complex, 200 S. Lindsey Ln. All ages are welcome. The advance registration cost is $18 for ages 18 years and up and $16 for children ages 6-17 years. The day of registration fee is $22 and $20. Children five and under are free.

A fishing derby will be held from 9 a.m. to noon in the north section of the , adjacent to the . The event is free to the public. 

The rest of the celebration will be held from noon to dusk in the south section of Volunteer Park, with a variety of free activities. Microreality Stock Car Racing and Dancefest will return.

A car show, petting zoo, inflatables and more make this a can’t miss day of fun. Summer’s Last Blast will conclude with a 7 p.m. concert by Green 13 and a magnificent fireworks display.

Swimming at Pelican Harbor Aquatic Park during Summer’s Last Blast is only $1 for residents and $5 for non-residents, with proceeds benefitting the Bolingbrook Park District financial aid program. Members are free.
