Cavalcade of Planes 2013 Kicks Off in Bolingbrook Saturday

More than 17,000 people are expected to attend the event at Bolingbrook's Clow International Airport this weekend.

The 14th annual Cavalcade of Planes will kick off Saturday at the Clow International Airport in Bolingbrook. 

When: Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

Where: Clow International Airport, 130 Clow International Pwky

How much:
Admission is $3 for adults, $1 for children 18 and under, and free for children 5 and under. Event parking is free.

Food and Drink

Picnicking will be available in the area with food and drink vendors. New this year -- the Cavalcade Cantee, a 1940's-themed food and drink vendor tent. 

For the adults -- enjoy the beer garden, open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. 

Attractions to check out 

  • A parachuter troupe will kick off festivities at 10 a.m. Saturday, descending 3,500 feet to the National Anthem, according to the Bolingbrook Reporter
  • Take flight in a 1929 airplane designed and constructed by Henry Ford. It will cost you $75 ($5 off if you book early online). 
  • Military flybys 
  • Planes used before WWII or in pre-war exercises, modern military planes, experimental planes and modern aviation technology
