Kiwanis 'One Day' Project Set For April 21

The Kiwanis Club of Bolingbrook & Romeoville is partnering with the Bolingbrook Park District to clean up Winston Woods Park.

In honor of the Kiwanis organization's annual One Day service program, the Bolingbrook and Romeoville chapter will host a clean up of .

The Kiwanis Club of Bolingbrook & Romeoville is partnering with the for the event, to be held from 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 21 at the Bolingbrook park.

“Considering this year Earth Day falls on our 'One Day,' it made sense for Kiwanis to give back to the earth that will one day make up the world that our children raise their families in,” said Michael Carpanzano, president of the organization.

The Kiwanis Club of Bolingbrook & Romeoville will join Kiwanians around the globe to help with One Day projects.

“While Kiwanians participate in service projects all year long, this ‘one day’ symbolizes our international presence and truly shows how all of our joint efforts can positively change one community, and one child, at a time,” Carpanzano said.

The community is invited to participate in the event, but must contact Carpanzano first.

The project will include brush clearing, picking up garbage, and pulling garlic mustard, an invasive woodland plant.

Attendees should bring gloves.

Winston Woods Park is located just north of the intersection of Boughton Road and Winston Drive.
