In an effort to help homeowners who are struggling with their mortgage payments, State Rep. Emily McAsey is co-hosting the Mortgage Relief Project Saturday, Oct. 26, according to a news release from the representative's office.
The program runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will be held at Lewis University's College of Arts and Sciences, located at 1 University Parkway, Building 11, in Romeoville.
The Mortgage Relief Project helps homeowners learn about different programs they may qualify for to help lower payments and avoid foreclosure. All participants receiving one-on-one counseling should bring a copy of their mortgage statement, their most recent pay stubs and documentation of any other income, a budget including monthly household expenses and their past two months bank statements.
